CIAT Yorkshire Region is holding the second Professional Development day at Leeds Beckett University on 26th May. The inaugural event was held in June of last year, and after it’s overwhelming success, we will stage a similar event this year.
The Event – The day will host a number of value added Professional Development presentations for delegates to build their own learning programmes. The key elements being that the day is totally free to attend (including lunch and refreshments throughout); delegates are able to attend as many or as few presentations as their diaries allow, and the event is supported by a cross pollination with all associated professional institutes – RIBA, RICS, CIOB, CABE, CIBSE and ICE, as well as CIAT. We make it a rigorous rule that presentations are not a dressed up ‘sales pitch’, as we are acutely aware that our fellow professionals do not appreciate any form of hard sell.
Our first event last year saw over 150 visiting delegates from all institutes; attending 25 CPD presentations split into 5 blocks of five time slots. Presentations were from a mix of approximately 60% specialist professionals, and 40% product manufacturers.
This year we intend to offer morning and afternoon plenary sessions to get more delegates to attend each half of the day, with a maximum of 16 presentations over four sessions. We have secured the services of Peter Caplehorn RIBA HonMCIAT – former Technical Director of Scott Brownrigg and now Deputy Chief Executive & Policy Director of the Construction Products Association, and Richard Saxon CBE who its the current chair at JCT.
Opportunity – An event like this presents a number of opportunities on various levels. The opportunity we would like to offer to you is a substantial presence at the event in exchange for some key sponsorship, either as a main or secondary event sponsor; but there are other options available. Clearly the day will present a unique opportunity to access a significant number of pre-construction design and specifying professionals.
Please fill in the form to get in touch. Thanks.
